I went to a bunch of companies again and tried to get a job. Dropped off my samples at DC and Marvel and had to come back the next day to see if I made it onto the list of people they wanted to talk to after reviewing our work. Didn't make it on the DC list, but I still had an unofficial review there anyway since I had previously met with DC's art director and I tracked him down. I did, to my surprise make it onto Marvel's list. It went well and the editor there gave me a lot of motivation and I now have a new game plan. A few other places might work into something, but I'm not holding my breath.
Danny Bonaduce walked in front of my car while I waited at a stop sign and shortly after that, when I got inside the con, Stan Lee walked right by me. That was pretty cool. I met Vanessa at the TokyoPop booth and gave her the original of this piece
She's incredibly sweet and is even more stunning in person.
Saturday night my girlfriend and I met up with OctEgon and a few of his friends and got a bit tipsy. Had a blast though and look forward to doing it again sometime. Went back to the con this afternoon for a few hours, dropped off another sample packet for Lucas Licensing and met up with d_day. We wandered the floor for a few hours and I headed out. So that's it. Oh, and I bought a kilt. That shit is awesome. It's actually more of a man-skirt than a real kilt, but who cares? It's black, and I don't like plaid.
Here's the new shit I took with me:
The Crow pinup
TMNT page 1
TMNT pages 2 and 3
(This is a 2 page spread so right click, view image blah blah blah. Also, I had to piece 4 parts together and there's a line up the center and a shadow across the middle, but I'm tired and I don't care.)
TMNT page 4
TMNT page 5
And yeah dude, I'm sure Wizard World LA will be back in no time. Maybe we'll have some headway on this Zuda thing by then.
Also good to hear that you got your work out there at the convention and got some advice. Progress is a wonderful thing, isnt it?
