Ok, I just spent one hour watching the Women's Curling World Championships on ESPN2 (it's a slow tv night...gimme a break, huh?). After an hour of this stuff, I'm still not sure what the hell its all about. Maybe some of my Canadian friends can explain this to me.
Basically, these women push a big rock with a handle on it a few feet and then these other two women follow the rock down the ice with these little brooms, sweeping out in front of the rock to keep it going. When they get down to the end of the line, they try to knock some other rocks out of these big circles that are setup much like a dart board or an archery target. Apparently, they get points for having their "stone" end up in a particular spot while knocking the other team's stone aside.
This has to be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen and I just watched a bunch of the World Outdoor Games this past weekend, too.
And I thought rhythmic gymnastics was weird!
UPDATE: Cheech was right. Sweden was the eventual winner, for those of you scoring at home.

1. Do not, EVER, personally insult someone, even if they did it to you first. Attack ideas, not people. You can be removed from the community if you are observed doing this by a moderator. Here's a handy guide to avoiding personal attacks:
BAD:
You are racist and obviously cannot grasp even the most basic information.
BETTER
I find your ideas disturbing. Here is a link to some information that backs up my point on this issue.

"Blah blah blah, you're an idiot...blah blah blah, I'm so much cooler than you....Blah blah blah, I'm making up for my lack of any real argument here by calling you names and mocking your opinions..."
Again, Attack ideas, not people.. Watching you toss about insults is not interesting for other people.
