Ok, I've been pretty slack about updating my journal lately, so I'm going to try to make up for it this week.
My car is fixed. $400 later I have a new distributor, whatever that is. I am the most car illiterate man in Virginia, I swear. They could tell me the car needs a new Wonkavator and I'd be none the wiser. Anyway, the mechanic seemed like a nice, honest man so I feel ok about it. The car is running again and that's really the main thing.
I'm feeling politically motivated again this week. In the wake of this Iraqi sham and the Condi Rice ass kiss, I'm riled up all over again. My own party is probably drawing most of my ire, too. Here's a statement that sums up the state of the party pretty well:
"Democrats are so afraid of being criticized, or so afraid that they'll be accused of being too liberal, that they don't really act with the courage of their convictions"
No fucking kidding. When did it become such a bad thing to be liberal? Is it any better to be conservative? Sure, 60 million people voted for Dubya, but another 57 million voted for Kerry. Apparently, it's not *that* unpopular to be a Democrat in this country.
Who do you like for the Super Bowl? I'm rooting for the Eagles, even though I expect the Pats to win. I can't stand having another goddamn Boston team win this year, so I really hope the Eagles can pull off the upset. Give me your prediction!
Oh, last thing...everyone should go out right now and buy the latest album from Death From Above 1979 "You're a Woman, I'm a Machine". Brilliant stuff.
