Trash Can Sinatras!
One of the greatest bands of all-time, and one of my Top 5 favorites EVER...The Trash Can Sinatras...are touring the US for the first time since 1993. Ok, I did see them in NYC back in 2000, but that was just 2 shows. This is a full-fledged US tour in support of a brand new album (about fucking time!).
Words cannot begin to describe how much this band and their music has meant to me for the last, oh, 15 years now. Those quirky little Scottish pop songs just never get old for me. If you want to hear some incredibly catchy pop-rock with the most witty, most ingeniously clever lyrics on the planet then TCS are the band for you. I'm so totally jazzed that they're back with new material and a full-on live tour.
They hit the 930 Club in DC on 9/16. I'm definitely going. If anybody is interested in tagging along, that would be fucking awesome. Obviously, if you're a big fan of Linkin Park or KoRn, this is not a show you'll want to see. On the other hand, if you do enjoy bands like The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, Aztec Camera, Guster and the like, I urge you to come along for the show.
I may even trek up to NYC for the show at Bowery Ballroom (rock!) on 9/18. Any SGNY types who might be going, drop me a line. Maybe we can meet up before the show.
Woo-hoo! I am psyched, people.
listen, i'm glad you came
i knew you would
i waited for months
now we'll...milk the dwindling hours
so where's the sun, i could sneak out the blooms
and bring out some joy
from the gloom, all morning
and afternoon, put on that song
and sway around the room

Haha...I have just found my new favorite catch phrase:
holy fucking beavis christ!!!

You know, there are some bands that I never listened to, and I always knew I should be listening to. Now I'm gonna go out finally check the TCS's out. Funny how long you can mean to do something and not get it done.
