Hello all you beautiful people,..
Remember that live painting show I told you about like,.. 2 weeks ago or something,.. well,.. I've got pics of the outcome of all that for any of those who are curious. It was quite a lovely event. We hijacked the foyer of a movie theatre to hold the event,.. so curious onlookers who had came just for the twilight showing of "The Incredibles",... arguably got their $9.00 worth.
So,.. here's the layout of the place so you can map it out in your mind. With a little imagination, it's almost like you were there for reals.
...and moving on. This next pic is about a half hour into it. I only have 3 hours to do this painting from start to finish, so I was painting like Bob Ross on speed.
..and so,.. here's the painting about I guess,.. an hour into it,.. and at this point I'm feeling pretty good about myself. Her body is shaping up nicely,.. she's got a nice round head,... and it was all going well,.. until...
... I fucked up her hand!!! Oh god why?!? In my haste, I made the mistake of not measuring out the proper length of her arm, that was hiding behind her legs, and dammit, now she looks like a freak. She barely would pass as human. But ofcourse, I was to busy painting to notice. So,..
....here's the final painting,.. completed in just under the 3 hour or so time limit. Other than her freakish arm hand thing,.. I think it turned out alright. Okay,.. I'll try to explain my vision here, and explain some of the stuff going on. She's supposed to be smoking away her demons. That was my original idea,.. I was thinking she could be a tortured angel,.. and there's an underlying sexual thing going on here,.. with the purple pipe, and the sperm shaped smoke. I'm going to redo this painting and make it more better. Oh yeah,.. her wings are made out of rubber balls and some feathers,.. all screwed into her back with shiny silver nails.
Oh,.. and I've found a new place to do shows in SF. I'm so thrilled.
