Okay,.. wow,.. I'm back. October has been an insane month for me so far. My two nights with PJ Harvey came and went,.. and I am still dealing with the aftershocks of her utter brilliance, and I pray they don't subside anytime soon. My first night,.. I had to sit way back in the nose bleed section,... so to me, she was just one inch tall. It was an amazing concert nevertheless! But,.. on the second night! whoo boy! I was down there on the floor staring up underneather her. She was so powerful,. so tortured. She started off the second night with the song "To Bring you My Love", my absolute favorite of hers, and when she moaned "Forsaken Heaven, .. Cursed god above", at that moment I believed in love again. The crowd I was sharing my space with that night was really a mixed bag of nuts. We had some really cool kids in there. They were so chill. Lots of couples together, flattening themselves on one another. It was actually fitting, as PJ Harvey is a tortured romantic in a way. And I get off on that. Then there was a really tall and hairy transvestite, who looked a lot like Howard Stern on his book cover, and he was always getting in my way of the show,.. He like towered over everyone! Such a bastard for being so tall. I don't think anyone liked him very much. Plus he kept singing along to every word,.. but on this annoying 2 second delay. But it didn't matter,.. cuz the show still rocked...
It's Mural update time.
I took some pics of the mural I'm working on. It's in downtown San Jose, CA. A nice town, not to be missed on your next tourist destination.
Since my last posting,.. I have spent 3 long ass days working on this mother. She's coming along quite well I think now,.. got past the growing pains, and I think she will be a successful full grown painting one day.
Little did I know when I started that I would be painting over someone else's previous mural. I've never actually desecrated someone's artwork before! Well, here's the previous mural.
I started painting the mural at about noon on 12/16/04. This is what my progress looked like at about 3:00 that day.
Okay,.. I'm going to fast forward a little bit here. This next pic is about two days later, .. and this is pretty much what the mural looks like now,.. since I just got home a few hours ago from working on it!
Oh,.. and another challenge that I didn't see coming while painting this mural, is that it's covering parts of a door! And that means the surface isn't flat, and there's a big gap in her face!!! Nooo! But,.. you don't notice it so much when your on the edge of the side walk. Here's a pic of her close up though so you can see she's a freak.
me painting her box.. hehe.
.... and that ends my mural painting journal post. I will post more pics as time goes on...

1. Lilo and Stitch is one of your favorite movies?!
2. You are welcome for the Courtney tix. I'm glad someone who loves her as much as me can go in my absence.
3. The mural. It is a m a z i n g! I love it!
4. I am the same way about Ryan Adams as you are with PJ. Went to his two SF shows in a row (1st nite @ the Warfied...good but sucked cuz too far away, 2nd nite @ the Fillmore...which was awesome cuz I was in the first row.) I actually exchanged words with him that night too. talk about heart fucking failure. anyway, i will probably see him in Chicago & MPLS this year too. I need help!
5. Was Lilo and Stitch always a movie fav? I wonder how I could have missed that, until now...
6. A Hairy Transvestite? Uggh. I would have told him to go get waxed and come back without his heels on.
Catch up with ya later.... and lemme know how Courtney was. I'm going to see her on Friday in LA. I cannot wait!!
