I hung out with my roommate/used-to-be-best friend today!! Well, we were in the same car for a while, got movies, and watched some 'sex in the city.' I used to adore her, got too close and felt a little blah, and then life changed a little and I didn't want to talk to her about it. Ya, and later I became a little bit reclusive. Closed door, loud music. And then she changed and instead of wanting to hang out at home and treat me like me, she was all put off and, like, "what have you been doing?" in a high and offended voice. But I want to get over that. At least to be able to hang out. It's been so long since the two of us did anything together. I doubt she will ever forgive me for my absence and cold-shoulder, but I will try. Yes, I will try. And today was good.

i had a friend that was my best friend/roommate and i didnt talk to him for YEARS. like 8 of them. he had moved away for schoole and for some reason he invited me to his wedding ..i travelled out to visit him and we threw everything aside and it was like zero years had passed. it was great.
the funny part of the story is that we stayed in touch and recently [about 20 months after the wedding] i hired him to work for me. ;-)
of course, i moved him from texas to canada and i came down here..so we still arent hanging out. still, its good to know we're still friends and time doesnt matter.
keep it up. its nice to rekindle those friendships.
