so the exams are over at last... (well, not really at last, they did only last 3 weeks). the final exam went ok except for one absolute bitch of a question, but it's over now so no point worrying about it too much...
jamie's headed home for the weekend as it's his sister's 21st birthday so i am all on my own with no-one to pester. i attempted to play my violin for the first time in about a year, unsuprisingly i now suck...like completley. i'd like to make the effort to start playing properly again (i have my grade 6 and used to play lead in the school orchestra) but i get the feeling that's one of those things i say i'll do then it lasts about a week before i get bored and just watch TV instead. also my sheet music is all at home somewhere in the loft, the loft which flooded a few weeks ago when the valve on the water tank broke.... bugger.
the rest of the day i will spend looking for jobs and attempting to remember how java actually works....sadly i think 'hello world' is not complex enough for my final year project. although that said i'm feeling much more optimistic about my course now the exams are done. and according to my provisional timetable i'm only in for 2 days a week next semester (6 hours on a tuesday, 1 on a thursday) so in theory should have plenty time to spend studying without having to faff around with travelling in and out of central portsmouth.
my ears weren't too happy with the idea of the stretch from 2g to 0 so i'm trying taping them this time. it's fiddly but at least it's not hurting (yet). i bought some plain sf eyelets in 0g as a target as they spirals were just slipping back to the thinner part of the glass.
edit: actually i just got impatient and tapered them. ouch! no bleeding or excessive pain though so i think it's all good....
i'm listening to my last.fm neighbourhood radio...apparently people who listen to the same music as me like shit music....wait, i already knew that....

People aren't allowed to be happy on TV. Ratings are bad with happiness.
