Well.............it seems I will be spending a LOT more time on here in the future. I just got my 90-day early separation request approved, which means I will be out of the Navy in June, instead of September. I am not leaving because I couldn't hack it....if I couldn't, I would have simply gotten myself into DEEP shit and left on whichver terms I wanted. Instead, I stuck it out, saw some AMAZING sights (as well as some humbling ones), and made some friends that I would give my life for, even after I've stepped across that brow for the last time. I won't say it was all a beautiful thing...............red tape is OVERLY abundant within the service, and there were things I saw going on that I KNOW wouldn't fly if the right people knew about it..........but alas, I am but a peon working for The Man right now, so I must let it be.
The main reason for my leaving is to further my education without trying to split my time between that and the military. The military has the potential to consume you and any time you have for yourself if you're not careful....not that I'm badmouthing the service....not at all. It's just the nature of the beast if you sit back on your laurels and let it happen, and I don't even know what laurels ARE, so I don't want to sit back on something unknown to me...LOL. Also, my current job within the military doesn't coincide with my first love, which should be apparent here: writing. When I was going through the recruitment process, I told my recruiters and detailers that I wanted something that had to deal with writing, as I wanted to keep my abilities sharp and fresh..........and I was shot down, mostly by my own lack of understanding and the allure of more money than I had ever earned in my life being waved in my face...while I don't regret it, I do sometimes wonder what might've happened if I did get that position. My current job doesn't require the power of the pen, but I've had to utilize said power on quite a few occasions, especially when others wanted a document that made them look good.....needless to say, I got a LOT more pen-and-keyboard time than the norm for my job path...LOL.
OK, that's all from me. My 360 just turned itself off, and I paused it to start writing some things on here....that OBVIOUSLY got lengthy. Y'all have a good day, even anyone even reads this....LOL.
