I feel your pain. I broke my phone a few weeks back. I'll never know if it was me throwing it some time previous to its death or just one of those things though. Hey maybe you can use this as an excuse to buy a better one though? I did.
Family are really hard to deal with sometimes. What you have to do is step back and think, okay, they can't help being stubborn and ridiculous. If someone starts shouting at you, I find being calm and relaxed works very well. Don't be sarcastic, just be mild, and after a short time they will feel stupid for yelling while you're just nodding.
Suggestions for the particular episode: Why don't you watch her?
Why not get a baby monitor so the sound is much louder for your grandpa?
Why doesn't your sister sleep downstairs so your grandma could see to her?
Don't be pissed at yourself. Better to break your phone than to hurt someone else or yourself.

I broke my phone and then I got one of those big yellow Nextel phones that can fall for like 30 yards without breaking. The phone never broke, but once I got pissed and threw it threw a window. Window breaking seems to be my thing.
