I am so excited- we open a new show at the gallery tomorrow night, and for once it's an artist I hand-picked. I NEVER get to pick the artist, but I liked this guy so much I just bullied it through. He's a young artist out of LA who has literally never had a show before, so this is going to be a blast. AND it gave me an excuse to have DINO MONTH! I was one of those dinosaur-obsessed kids who never went anywhere without a two-foot-long brontosaurus (we still had those then) in one hand, so I'm having a blast with this. Plus I really like getting a new artist's work out there, especially when I can get them terrific exposure to people who might be able to really boost their career (while the show is up, we are having speakers like the new head of the Paleontology Museum ay UC Berkeley and the editor of Prehistoric Times magazine). It's such an insanely narrow field, and there isn't much space in 'fine art' galleries for this sort of work, but I absolutely love it:
