i made my way to several shrines. in mexico, praying feebly - due to lack of nurishment. fasting for days. praying for change.

now my strength has returned to the u.s.a - i'm disgusted by bush's 2nd state of the union address. i am saddened. i prayed to our lovely virgin de guadalupe who was once the mexicanindiansnakegoddess. catholicism stole her sexuality. she still remains my greatest symbol of hope, of peace. i visited her on her colorful hilltops. climbing stairs, i drank what wine was left in the bottle, searching for spiders, snakes.

i gained a new appreciation for a culture i know nothing about, yet i'm drawn to. it was comfortable for a spell.
