@marlene Thanks =)  I've seen a lot of people use papier mache and foam and cardboard.  They can make things significantly faster, but it has been fun to make this out of wood.  The weight makes it feel really sturdy and you can sometimes make it more complex because it can support itself, I think.   Though mine is not very complex xD

Also, that is so cool that a band can have that much support that they raised all of that money in such a short time.

I'm not sure if the oak tree is still there! I haven't been back to the areas that I grew up since I was about 19. It's kind of sad to think about it I suppose, but in a way if you're going to move on there's not much point looking back (:

The trees on the coast here they think range from about 200-800 years old, so it's really fascinating to see they've survived so long.
