i feel its time for a real udate.
i twagged work last thursday and friday because i hate the place and i couldnt be bothered. on friday morning crayonscars came up with the excellent suggestion of taking me to Paris for an early birthday present. At 7:45 on friday evening we were on a plane to Charles de Gaulle.
On arrival in paris we got on a bus which dropped us off at the Arc de Triumphe. I think that bus journey will go down as the scariest of my life. The Arc de Triumphe is at the centre of a massive massive roundabout with no road markings and cars and mopeds just whizzing around where ever they can get through (seriously you must need ball of steel to drive in paris) It also has the biggest French Flag you have ever seen in your life.
we found our hotel with the help of a very honest taxi driver. After dumping our rucksacks we went to find a shop and got beer (they have beer with tequila in it!) and i got some hazelnut milka chocolate which i love but cant ever seem to find at home.
The next day we went to the Eiffel Tower and went right upto the top where it was cold and windy and also where there were seemingly millions of annoying american children whom had no manners.
Then we went to the louvre for a few hours - which didnt really do it justice i think i would want at least 2 days there really. We saw the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa as well as a lot of egyptian antiquities and a vast amount of italian paintings. we also looked at the 1 room of british paintings.
We then walked down the Seine to Notre Dame at which point i was feeling very tired and my shoes were hurting my feet so we decided to go back to the hotel.
The hotel was pleasant and gave us little toothbrush toothpaste sets when we told them we didnt have toothpaste. The TV in our room had pay for view porn and if you changed channel onto that you would see about 10 seconds of deep throating before the 'please type in your room number' thing appeared on screen.
anyway below are some pics.
