I'm sitting here, watching the cursor blink and trying to think of a way to do that concert justice in words..since I couldn't come up with a quick comic for it.
Was thinking of drawing a picture of a hand holding up "the horns" but, somehow, that doesn't seem right for Garbage..but...THE CONCERT WAS GREAT!!
The opening band, The Start, sounded pretty good to me, though it sounded like there were some problems with the vocal mic or they just needed to turn it up more.
And yup, they too had a hot lady lead singer.
Garbage kicked ass.
Sadly, Butch Vig's mother died..I think Shirley said it happened just yesterday...so, he wasn't playing tonight.
They had the drummer who helps out on their recordings playing tonight.
I had seen Garbage a while ago at one of Q101's Twisted Christmas things, but this was my first official Garbage show.
It was great to hear what they do with the songs live, pretty much everything sounded great.
There was some lucky 9 year old up front with a sign saying it was his first concert ever. Shirley noticed it, gave the kid a kiss on the cheek, signed his sign, talked with him a bit. Yup, lucky little kid
Oh yeah..on the way back to my car after the show, ran into Oxalis and dvsmonkey. They had just gotten out of the Cubs game. Was good to see you guys. Hopeuflly now, I can just remember dvs' real name after hearing it a second time.
