It is time for new crazy blog action.

...

Ummm...never been a big "trekkie", but I did like the new Star Trek movie. Was lots of fun smile
Speaking of fun sci fi, are any other comic readers out there reading Nova? It is a blast and Abnett and Lanning seem to enjoy messing with Richard Rider.
The Sword by the Luna Bros. also contains plenty of angst and crazy violent action.
Also, everyone should be reading Wasteland.

As time goes on, I definitely get pickier and picker with everything I decide to derive my entertainment from, with some definite exceptions.
Anyway, my recommendations for current anime titles, just 'cause:
Musishi is lush, pretty to look at, and has an interesting protagonist in a pretty interesting world. He travels the countryside, researching, investigating, and solving problems that come up relating to these creatures that seem to be supernatural and have many varying types.

Moribito: Again, another interesting fantasy setting as a bodyguard's hired to protect a prince whose father wants him dead because he has a water spirit egg inside of him, and it could mean disaster if the egg hatches. Balsa, the bodyguard, is up there with Greg Rucka's Tara Chace for my favorite female protagonists.

Gurren Lagann: Soo..Gainax did this insane OVA called FLCL, thenn..I'm pretty sure staff from that and staff from production IG did something else pretty crazy called Dead Leaves, thenn...from Gurren Lagann's style, I'm thinkin' the Gainax staff from Dead Leaves went and did this show. It is insane, fun, and sure, full of fan service. I suck up the energy from stuff like this, FLCL, and the comic Sharknife like a sponge. Watching it just makes me want to go draw .

In other news, I've found that when I read more, it actually makes writing easier. On that note, I have more plotting to do..or..hopefully sleeping at this point.
sauda:
The soundtrack to FLCL is the best part of the whole strangeness. In fact, I've been thinking of using a song by The Pillows (either that or TsuShiMaMiRe) for a burlesque piece. Oh, and didn't you know I'm a time traveler? wink
