At last I am able to update my journal. I have, alas, been way too busy with buccaneering and all. It simply isn't easy being a small white cat with swashbuckling tendencies.

I have of recent times been considering resuming a more artistic way of life but I am still pondering what value art has, if any. Is art simply a way of communicating how one views the world around you or is it meant to be an exploration of one's innermost being?

So I put this question before you, gentle readers. What is the nature and function of art?
