me (dork): "Uh...neither did I. Where did you hear that?"
Claire (hot stuff): "It's in their Christmas letter."
Sure enough, there it was:
The best man will be Pete Zarcone (Shawn's college roommate and a high school friend to Sue), the groomsmen will be Chris Hickey and Dave Hedges (both fiends of Shawn and high school friends of Sue's), and the ring bearer will be...
(poor spelling and grammar are original to the letter)
So my old college roommate and good friend, Shawn, circulated (or rather his fiance circulated) this within a two and a half page (single spaced) Christmas letter to many, many people.
So great...except that he hasn't asked me yet. And I saw him in person for quite a few hours on Christmas Eve. Not a word. Sometimes it's really a pain being a geek in that it means my close friends are also geeks and thus lack certain common sense. I would accept, really. Just freakin' ask.
So that's my excitement lately. Christmas time went well, despite my hate of holiday gift shopping (yet I love grocery shopping...go figure). Four days of the holidays to go. Usually, we do three days, (X-mas eve, X-mas and New Year's day) but this year has expanded to madness.
-Christmas Eve at my parents' house with my father's side
-Christmas Day at my paternal aunt's house with father's side and uncle's family
-Day after Christmas at parents' house with close family.
-New Year's Eve here for a bourbon party with friends!
-New Year's Day at Paternal Grandmother's house with father's side.
-Day after New Year's at maternal Aunt's house with mother's huge family.
That's right, five days of relatives out of ten days. Fucking insane.
At least we'll have "Pete's inheritance bourbon party take two" to break things up a little.
