I had a very long flight today and I was reading the Le comte de Monte Cristo (The Count of Monte Cristo for the non french speakers lol) It had a great excerpt dealing with happiness and and death. It really made me think about the funeral I have to attend on wensday for a aunt that had a long battle with cancer. the problem was i havent seen here in over 10 years and i feel a little diconnceted to be honest. I cared that she was my relation and she left childern and a husband behind but feel better for her that her suffering is over...bittersweet
There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state to another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life. - Alexandre Dumas
