I finally brought out my food dehydrator. It's about time! I dried some parsley (bought) and some oregano (from the yard). And I'm still waiting on the brown mushrooms to finish up. They are so yummy when put into soups.
And I'm on my second batch of roma tomatoes which I've been packing into a jar with a bit of sliced garlic and some excellent cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. They will mostly be used in my sun dried tomato hummus recipe. So yummy!
Later I will be drying some banana chips and some apple slices (with a bit of cinnamon flavoring) and I may see if I can snag me some cherries too. They are so good in cookies and other things and nice to have around in the winter.
Prepped some of the usual stuff too, Seitan, salsa, refried beans and seasoned crumbled tofu for my morning scramble. And I cooked up some brown basmati rice. I'm not a big fan of brown rice but I've decided to cut out the white crap since it's really low in any nutritional value and I have a higher tolerance for brown basmati over the regular brown rice.
I bought a huge bag of carrots and a bag of apples. I thought it was about time I got back in the habit of starting my day off with a glass of carrot, apple and parsley juice. It's way better then it sounds or looks.
I also got a belated B'day present (pictures provided by the interwebs cause again I'm lazy and don't wanna edit the ones I took)
I've been wanting one for so very long!
I also got the following games to go with it.
I need more fun games though so feel free to recommend any that you think I would like!
I also I bought this:
iPod Touch (8GB) to replace my poor little Izzy (ipod shuffle 1st gen) who passed away a few months ago.
I was planning on getting a nano but the lovely Scully_ was selling this nearly new in the Swap Meet group and I'd much rather help her out then spend my money else where.
I can't wait until it get's here!
Tomorrow if all works out as planned I will once again be a redhead. I think I'm a bit behind on my weekly self-portraits so there will be pictures.
Oh and I finally got to meet the ever so wonderful dmac! We had such a fun time and talked so much I never got to finish off my dinner so there was no public displays of plate licking! Maybe next time!
I wanted to give my "leftovers" to the interesting looking old man on the corner holding a sign about needing food to eat but then I realized I had no fork and my food was not very "finger friendly" but she told me about this other guy that holds up a sign at one particular corner that says: "I bet you can't hit me with a quarter". Apparently he does quite well with that one.
Hell, I would drive by and throw a quarter at him everyday if I could. Very cheap entertainment if you ask me!
Casually "bumping" into her? Isn't that kinda obvious?
congrats on the new toys!
