Got stuck working late today. Apparently a code release done earlier in the day release a whole bunch of stuff that wasn't supposed to go out yet, so instead of rolling that release back the decision was made to push out the rest of the code that was in development.
Of cause this decision was made 5 minutes before I was going to leave for the day, so I got to stay behind and release (what was probably untested) code onto nearly 2 dozen production systems. I sure hope stuff didn't break. An hour and a half later, I walk out the door, cursing the disregard for the following of procedures. Oh well, welcome to the industry I guess - it's the same everywhere.
The one good thing about working late is leaving work early tomorrow. MFS wants to go out drinking 'somewhere classy' tomorrow night, so that should give us a few extra hours of sunlight to burn.
I think we're gonna need it.
