shawntastic:
Damn! 4 hours too late! I don't think I've ever seen Paper Moon live... I didn't even know they did shows still.

I'm guessing the podcast link is somewhere near the SG Radio link?

(Oh, and friended back)

That's actually why I started thinking about Klaatu. I was thinking about the Walrus, which got me thinking about John Lennon, which got me thinking about the Beatles, which got me thinking about the band Klaatu and how the talk was they were the Beatles upon the release of their first album in 1976 (I was a fan, and I actually liked their second album Hope the best-I still have all their albums on vinyl), which got me thinking about Klaatu the movie character, which got me thinking about the movie.

Now I'm going to have to listen to several Klaatu albums, and then perhaps watch 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' this evening.

Hey, when are we gonna get that suitcase?

St. Norbert, on the river side of Pembina, as opposed to the monastary ruins side of Pembina. Behind a community centre before the monastary turnoff (just before the market). You have to walk a ways over a field (you should try that while there's lightning overhead!!) and get through a small opening in a fence. There are 12 stone monuments for the Stations of the Cross, too, throughout the overgrown woods (they look like huge gravestones). Probably wouldn't be quite the same in the day. Damn cool at night, though.

me and my boys went out and got crazy cranked on Monday night at Kareoke. I paid for it dearly yesterday. I tried all night to stave off the hangover by drinking ridiculous amounts of water every time I got up to pee, but no dice.

here's the worst part though. I had yesterday off so there was lots of time to recover.. until 9:30AM...

boo to winnipeg being in the middle of the country. your family is west coast, mine is east.. and here's the prairies... smack in the middle.

it's been far too long since i've been out kareokeing. i dont know if that's a word or if i spelled it correctly.
lazarusisdead:
Damn, that's one nice looking camera. I just googled it to find out information on it. Probably more than I need, but damn. love

so I found out yesterday that my best friend's Dad died, so that's a bit of a bummer. Our families have been close since I was just 3 years old. I can't get out to BC for the service though, unfortunately, which is too mad as i'd like to see people again even under less-than perfect circumstances. frown

The last few days have been party party party! And it's been a lot of fun. Me and Colette79 have been to 2 fringe plays already, and I really want to go see more. The one we saw tonight was all kinky and sexy, but I'm not sure I got it. Oh well, there was nudity, so that's cool. tongue tongue tongue

Another nice thing is that I've...

It's my new favourite word. They used it at one point on the tv show 'Deadwood' instead of 'Hooray!'. smile

Yesterday was so stupid at work. with the rain and nonsense going on, our restaurant's basement flooded Saturday night, then Sunday we were one of the only restaurants on osborne that had power/wasn't completely flooded, and we were compleately unprepared for how many people would show up. I was there from 12:30 pm to 12 AM.....and I have to go back right now again. It...

well, the last few days have been rather miserable for me. Last wednesday night I got a wicked fever and was bedridden for 2 days, and since then I've been feeling rather weak and powerless, like someone has a big needle extracting all my get-up-and-go. I don't doubt one bit that it has to do with all this stupid heat. We have no AC, so...

it's not that often I write to bitch about stuff. usually when I bitch it's because I'm quite baffled by something. in the past i've bitched about people's enjoyment of Bright Eyes, who I enjoy listening to about as much as I enjoy poking my eyeballs with needles..but I already bitched about that, so there you go.

today's rant is about Napoleon Dynamite. WTF people?...

what..? no i won't hunt you down...
its just Napoleon Dynamite. you are supposed to sit there and go "i went to school with a guy like that" or "god, i used to wear a side ponytail" or "happy hands!? hahaha!" (and roll your eyes)
i liked it because its cheesy and it makes me laugh, not because its an amazing film.
its not really a movie that encourages you to think deeply about it.
i don't think thats why anybody liked it.
its just good clean fun.
if you expected it to change your world view, you watched the wrong movie.
i understand what you are saying though.
oracle:
ya I am with you...I watched the whole movie and thought..what a waste of my time..
nothing even made me smile let alone laugh...
