Here in Calgary, we have some pretty crazy weather.
Chinooks in the winter, where it goes from -40C one day to plus 10C the next.
Summer we get lots of random hail storms.

Like today, when thejesseofdoom & I leave our place in my mom's car.
(mine old van is dead forever, sad times)
The light rain as we where leaving quickly turned into hail, and our 10 min drive for take out & beer turned into an hour of detours around downtown, trying to find a road that wasn't flooded to get across. People stuck in the flood water under bridges, some standing on the roofs of their cars. I wish I had taken my camera.
The sun came out again though.
& I am now home drinking delicious Mill St. Lemon Tea beer.

Tuesday night went to Queens of the Stone Age show.
It was fucking awesome. They played most of their first album, the a few hits of some of the others.
I'm a big fan of their first three albums & have been wanting to see them for ages.
Calgary Folk Festival weekend before.
Few of us got free tickets through work & hung out drinking beer in the shade burning incense & listening to pretty french music. Even though I don't understand very much anymore, I so rarely get the chance to speak french anymore. And friends I was with understood less.
banjo ukulele.
Les Chaud Lapins from NY
Le Coeur Pirate from Montreal
and she is super fucking cute.
some of you may have known her as Bea from GodsGirls.
before they found out she was underage & her label had them take the photos down.
or something like that.
A lot of people I like at work are leaving.
And I feel kind of lost. I've been pretty depressed about my job for awhile.
Bored of doing the same thing for almost 5 years now.
& just sad about work in general. Working most of your life just to be able to live doesn't seem right to me.

my sx-70 came in the mail couple weeks ago.
its very pretty but have been shooting mostly with Hasselblad lately.
the last lab in the city that processes slide film shut down last month.
which may not seem like a big deal, but there is already nowhere to process b&w so to me it feels like there will be no one left doing film at all in a short time. Canadian prices on so much has gone up & many are no longer available at all, unless ordered from the US.
mer.
enough wining.
more beer.
love.

loved that last video... didnt understand a word of the lyrics.. but that doesnt matter... the melody.. and rhythm of the vocals is strong enough to sweep us up into the romance of the track..
