I made another amazing dinner last night. I'm really excited about cooking! The cookbook I have is really great- it's super helpful for people that are beginners. I think it's either Better Homes and Gardens or Betty Crocker- I can't remember which. Anyway, whenever I'm like "what does mince really mean" or "how long is ginger good for" or "if I don't have/don't like such and such ingredient what can I replace it with" I can look it up in the book. I love it! Last night's dish was chicken lo mein and it was incredible. I'm really not trying to toot my own horn here- I just really had no idea that I could cook food. Up until now my culinary skills consisted of macaroni and cheese from a box, spaghetti-o's , canned soup, and pizza rolls. It's so exciting to know that I can make real food now! I think that I'd like to try making lamb next, but I've never had it before and I'm a little worried I might mess it up.

If I do tell her, it would def be after the weekend. That way if it backfires, there's time to regroup and rethink.
