Captain we're going to die in 0.2 of a second...
Oh sorry...should I have told you that earlier?
Breaks. I have successfully written 2 essays, handed one in, done a translation assignment, read one book for my sexuality course and read half of a book for my research for my spanish oral topics. I've been working almost constantly for a week, bar a couple of nights out, and I appear to need a bit of a break. At least, I think thats why I currently feel like shit.
Weighed down with words
Too overdramatic
I'm noticing a trend in my blogs, like in my life. They're no longer the self-exploration, learning and experiencing that I did last year. They're getting continuously more stressed and work-obsessed. I do other things but I never write about them. There was a time when I was interesting, at the moment I seem to be keeping it all inside.
Forgive me, you cut out again
It's easier just to blame the reception
So, I shall attempt to give you a run down of what's new:
- I am now a mac user. I am in love with my macbook even if I don't fully understand it, but since this is like the majority of my relationships I don't find it weird.
- I went to Paris for the weekend with my mum to act as an interpreter at a trade fair. It's always a fun experience, and I got to have dinner on the 56th floor of the Montparnasse tower which gives some of the most amazing views across the city. It's so beautiful, I love that place.
- I took part in the Bring Me The Horizon video shoot with a bunch of the other girls. Akemi, Ihsanphotography and Squee have photographs lying around somewhere. My part is a blink and you'll miss it because I'm one of the jumping crowd people part. It was a fun, if slightly disastrous towards the end when Keiko got wounded, experience. Still, I got to see some friends and catch up on their lives.
- I saw Funeral for a Friend and jumped on poor Jezebel in a slightly weird and rushed way in the bar beforehand. FFAF are still quite good.
- Ortus came to stay and we watched fireworks, drank and went to a Francis Bacon exhibition at the Tate Britain and he listened to me moan constantly about the amount of work I have to do for my courses.
- I spent almost an entire weekend in bed writing an essay and wishing I could go outside even though it was torrential rain.
- I still can't remember exactly what I am supposed to be doing for the next few weeks and am sure I have managed to double book myself somewhere.
- I am excited because Clio is coming to stay with me and, well, I adore her. It's been a long time now...Insanely long. She's known me longer than the majority of the people I know now. Bar Mr Diaz who works for some band, y'know.
- I am in love with film photography again. My black and white film has been developed and is waiting for me at home. I can't wait to see it.
- I am becoming even more of a language geek and have been known to say things like "Actually, the reason we say ........ is because of a french/german/spanish/italian etc influence. If you look at the etymology of the word......"
- I figured out I'm also more of a feminist than I thought, but not in a scary shove it in your face way, more in a kind of "hmm this is interesting...so why DON'T we have equal rights? hmm?"
- I am reading an interesting book on the reasons behind Graffiti art.
- I am currently obsessed with these songs:
Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire (what is with the chicken?!)
Rihanna - Disturbia
The Spill Canvas - All Over You
The Spill Canvas - Break A Leg*
Funeral For A Friend - History*
Thrice - Digital Sea
Heart Pharmacy - Sweet In Your Body

miss talking to you
straight ballin'. cant imagine that view... you get a picture?
Just found out about the Francis Bacon exhibition yesterday. Saw the poster (which is the screaming pope) and ended up just starring at the poster for a minute or two. There's something about his paintings. Was thinking to go see the exhibition Saturday, but i think it would put me in an odd place for drinks.
I was told that comedy is about tapping you subconscious, I think in daily life I'm close to my subconscious, Bacon places me right in there.
I Keep thinking that as an experiment I'll buy a Bacon print and place it over my bed, but i'd probably just end up weeping in a card board box though.
At least mark would enjoy it.
