my father got laid off many times in my life. at one point we were so poor he had to take a 5am paper route. now he runs one of the most successful motorcycle shops in new england, which is awesome. so, good things will come.
Sorry about your dad. My dad was laid off (actually fired, but they called it laid off) when I was 7. I don't remember it very well, only how frightening it was to see my dad in a position like that.
For a change I'm actually not bitching about St Louis. Even though The Cure, The Pixies and MC5 are all skipping St Louis on their current tours, StL has put something pretty cool together. I just got back from a free Wyclef Jean performance. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday they're holding a series of free concerts under the St Louis Arch.
Yeah well I am pissed that Cure is skipping KC too!! Damn I don't think that I will ever get to see them live. I am too fucking poor to go travel anywhere. They aren't coming anywhere close!! *sigh*
In this automated fast food culture, have we forgotten how to act on the rare occasion when we encounter other human beings?
Have we really forgotten how to act when we talk to a real person instead of "If you would like to speak to a representative, press 1, if you would like..."
So a porn actress came into my place of business the other day asking for directions. Don't know who, as I don't care much for mainstream video porn.
She was looking for an adult store about 9 miles up the road. Problem is, the road changes names and numbers, so she was on the wrong section of road.
Apparently, she was doing a signing.
Yeah, I do like him. I dunno what my problem is. Why doesn't dating get EASIER when you get OLDER? What a freaking bummer that is. I don't want to feel like I'm in high school again.
Funny. Because what I liked about The Mummy was the costuming, sets, and scenery I liked Returns even more due to the fact that these things were still more elaborate.
painful white is being awoken by the fuzz....thanks for the birthday wishes...the age has not changed a thing except for one little thing...I am now a lot closer to being able to get a senior discount than ever before
man....still can't get used to seeing that "3" in front of my age.
Saw Dick Dale last weekend. The man is freaking insanely talented. Don't know many guitar players that can outplay their drummers while standing behind them. He does a mean Louis Armstrong impression, too. Plays a damn fine trumpet. And can't even read sheet music.

Would like to see Dick Dale whenever he's over here next. the 2's & 3's don't seem so bad when you hit the next one up (trust me). I still feel like someone half my age - I just can't catch them. Boom boom.
Picked up nearly pristine copies:

Squeaky: The Life and Times of Lynette Alice Fromme - Runaway by Jess Braven
