Went to the ReBar last night with my friend Brett to see Love is a Battlefield, a LOVELY burlesque show put on by Dirty Diamond Burlesque. It featured go go Amy, Chica Boom, Vienna La Rouge, the Diamind Girls, several of the Von Foxies, PoppyCock, and Miss Inga Ingenue. There are some that I'm missing, but you get the idea. Great, great show. I saw the Diamond Girls, go go Amy, the Von Foxies and Chica Boom Sunday night at the Anything Goes show at the ReBar. All the otheres were new to me.
Wow. just wow. It's an incredible art form, and these girls are awesome at it. Brett and I were blown away for most of the show, hootin' and hollerin' and carrying on. go go Amy performing to 'Pasties and a g string' by Tom Waits (I had to go to iTunes and surf through the Tom Waits discoraphy to learn its name) was incredible. Vienna is spellbinding. No other words to describe her as a performer. Miss Inga Ingenue has a great, fresh stage presence (and she gave me a cookie out of her panties, HOT). Eddie von Schmaltz made an appearance as the Doctor of Love - I love his shows
the finale, though, was AWESOME. The Diamond Girls, Eva von Hott and someone whose name I tragically can't remember, did 'Love is a Battlefield' in all their 80's splendour. Oh, wow. It was an incredible show all around. Yay. We're SO going to go to more shows.
