In my imaginary Venn diagram of All Things Awesome, singer/songwriters Kate Pierson and Sia Furler occupy two giant circles, and the new album which these ridiculously talented and staunchly individual ladies collaborated on, Guitars and Microphones, occupies the utterly epic place where the two circles intersect.

Billed as Pierson's debut solo album, from a songwriting perspective the release is very much a collaborative effort

In spiritual teachings, the violet flame is a divine transcendent force that transmutes the negative and transforms it into a positive. It's therefore a fitting name for Erasure's sixteenth studio album, which was released on September 23rd, 2014. Though the effervescent synth-pop grooves are nothing short of a party, the lyrics hint at darker times. As Andy tells me in our phone interview (which took

On Thursday, May 8th, Juturna, Moxi and myself were joined by Nina Hartley and her long time partner Ernest Greene, author of the indecently sexy tale of love, lust, domination, and submission, Master of O. The novel is a clever contemporary reimagining of Anne Desclos Story of O, as told from the male dominant's perspective. During the show we explored Nina and Ernest's

Last week’s outrageous SG Radio show, featured Michael Starr and Lexxi Foxx of Steel Panther. We discussed their new album, All You Can Eat and upcoming tour, the logistics of anal bleaching, the nuts and bolts of gloryholes, and composed a brand new song – “Snail Trail” – live on air!

This week on SG Radio myself and co-hosts Juturna and Moxi Suicide will...

Finished my cleaning duties with the Steel Panther show...Man! I'm so happy those guys left residency (although they were amazing). Yeah I'm really happy for them, I didn't even realize they were doing their own stuff. Being a Metal Head I totally gotta search their music out now ...also find out about Canadian dates in the future. Amazing, love you guys :)

Last week's SuicideGirls Radio Show featured an incredible live performance from singer, songwriter and virtuoso musician Lili Haydn, who is often referred to as the Jimi Hendrix of the violin for reasons that will soon become apparent if you hit the play button above.

She performed four passionate and soulful tracks live with her friends Steve and Susan Postell and also allowed us to...

Brody Dalle has been the main attraction and driving creative force behind the last two band's she's founded and fronted -- The Distillers and Spinnerette -- so it's about time she stepped out with an album under her own name.

Beautiful and badass, the 35-year old singer, songwriter and musician has been rockin' hard for over two decades. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, she

Always great to read journalistically creative stuff about Brody Dalle. This interview was really eye opening for me. If Brody Dalle can make babies and be a responsible person after, I have to be able to come close, right? Great work Nicole Powers!

One of the most intriguing characters in the new series of House of Cards, is that of hacker Gavin Orsay played by Jimmi Simpson. The political drama, which is written and produced by Beau Willimon and stars Kevin Spacey as the Machiavellian politician Francis Underwood, is highly addictive and a breakout hit on Netflix.

One of the secrets of the show’s success is that

Adan Jodorowsky's life story reads like a plot from one of his father's surrealist masterpieces. The son of Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and Mexican actress Valerie Trumblay, Adan was born in France and raised in an exceedingly Bohemian household, where standing on the table and peeing in the soup was considered a legitimate form of expression rather than an act worthy of being sent to...

Having spent quality time at Occupations in Los Angeles, New York, London and Chicago, about a year ago I received a phone call from my friend – Emmy Award winning former CNN journalist Amber Lyon – asking for help with a book on contemporary protest she was working on.

“Come over for a day and write a few captions,” she said. I didn’t see the
