Top 3 Reasons Why I'm Sorry To See Weiner Go:
1. Given how key net neutrality is (especially in light of Citizen's United), I considered it a plus that Weiner at least knew how to use Facebook and Twitter. Even if he hadn't quite mastered the subtitles, he's still ahead of the majority of doddering fools/politicians who are probably still dictating emails to their secretaries yet consider themselves qualified to vote on tech issues.
2. He's not going to vote to invade countries or build excessively tall buildings / long bridges because of small dick syndrome.
3. If you want to take issue with what politicians do for kicks in their private lives, consider the likes of Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney who shoot innocent birds and animals (and even friends in the case of Cheney) for fun but were still allowed to keep their jobs. As far as I know, a tweet from Weiner has yet to kill anything, no matter how potent the content.
I ask you, what's more obscene...

As long as it's not obviously criminal or glaringly hypocritical I just don't care about what politicians do in their private lives. And I agree with Ms. Maddow that giving in to media pressure here is a huge mistake. If, as ChrisSick mentioned above, there are issues not being discussed here that may shed a less savory light on things, then maybe what they are doing is just damage control, but I'm not convinced that is the case and it seems like it may just be a big deal made about nothing.
