Update on Occupy New Orleans: I'm stuck at home with pneumonia, but I've been keeping up with what's going on as much as I can. The first planned event was a march that went really well, estimated 300+ protesters. The New Orleans police were surprisingly nice and well behaved. From what I understand, the occupation is doing well and growing. Today or yesterday the mayor visited. A lot of people don't like him, but I think it scored him some points with protesters.

Fortunately, the police are helping it all get more notice. I had no idea what Tom Morello was talking about and I had forgotten about it until I read your previous blog. When I saw videos of police pepper spraying people, it got my attention. I looked more into it and people in New Orleans are meeting Sunday to see what can be organized. I plan on being there.
