So...... I got the 'House Falling Down Blues.'
About a week ago here in Sydney, we had some crazy storms.
I woke up to find the balcony landing had ripped away from the side of my house and was being held up by a tree from falling into the poor, unsuspecting neighbours underneath next door.
After reporting it to my real estate, they sent a builder around to the property to inspect the damage, and he just giggled. After composing himself, he went on to tell me that the work that would be needed would be huge and that I would probably have to leave, which is a shame as my wife and I were quite taken with the house.
Next day we get a call from the real estate telling us that yes, the owner is going to have to finally fix the house and that we would in fact have to leave..... in 90 days.
See, the problem is that it's all come at the worst time. I'm due to finally be going home to London in 4 weeks (I haven't been home in two years) so money is tight. We've asked the real estate if they could transfer the bond money over to whatever new property we find with them, and they always mumble and stumble and say we can't do that. So not only do we have to continue paying rent in the house we're in, we have to find bond money upfront for a new house, as well as 4 weeks rent upfront. All the while, I'm trying to save a few dollars to use while I'm home.
Real estates suck the biggest dick, they continuously say they want to help us find another house to move into as the one we're in isn't safe, but then they won't help us out with transferring bond.
Does anybody know legalities when it comes to rental properties?

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that. Sometimes these things come at the worst times. I hope you can work it out and still make it back to London to see family and friends. Keep your chin up tiger, even if it doesn't change things a positive attitude can often make things easier to overcome.
