I got back on my horse yesterday!
Did some ground work and handling first. He was a BIT of jerk when trying to put on the bridle, but we finally got it. Sam is so funny, he just wants to stand there and be loved and not work, like a lazy teenager (which I guess he is since he is a 4 year old). We did some lunge work at the walk trot and canter both directions with bucking a lot. But, he followed my body language and did what I asked with very little use of the lunge whip.
I then got on him and just did work at the walk. I needed to get back on so neither one of us would start to freak out. We did some figure 8s, and he was good, so I dropped my stirrups. Then, we started work on neck-reining which was cool. Sam was a bit confused, but after a few minutes he started to get it. After he did a great circle in each direction I jumped off, and put him away.
A great success! Small, but that is how these battles must be won.

I really do not want it to rain in Foxboro tomorrow. But it looks like its going to absolutely pour and thunder. Guess that means that I am a no-go to the Patriots game. I effing hate thunderstorms...

Summer is over, I am back to my final year of school, finishing up that double degree.

That Ridgeback (Femi) is actually my sister in law's dog. But she lives about 3 houses down from me, so I can see her any time I want.
