Okay, I had two choices for today: Embrace the day or complain constantly. I could think about today in two ways:
Angry: I was woken up by a phonecall and it was a wrong number!! I had to go to work because of a reading there but the car was horribly covered in ice! Took me 15 minutes for every window on the car, both inside and outside, to clean. Well, II went to work where two young authors were supposed to read but they were both a bit hangovered from last night and they "smelled" accordingly. Only 1 person attended, plus three that were using the computers in the cafeteria. After this almost waste of time I hurried to the mall... where actually no parking space was available and ridiculous traffic culture going on. I am sure that cars here multiply by masturbation...aaaargh. So, then I decided to go to the most expensive store because it was near, and almost got hit by a guy parking in the space I had started to park into (he came from the other direction and continued into "my" space...), so I cursed, went inside, bought stuff and am so broke. Went home (after spending ridiculously many hours in a simple thing like buying few items), and have been hooking up my wireless network and new printer ... can't wait for this day to be finished.
Optimistic: I woke up this morning and it was so beautiful outside. Sunny and bright and very cold but beautiful. I took photos through my mobile, to later fully appreciate this beauty. Okay, the car was covered in ice, but I was in no hurry. Stress these days is very bad. At work the authors did good in reading, even though they were a bit tired and after a successful reading I went to the mall... only to discover that everyone is so stressed!!! Shopping crazy!!! Yikes - but I decided to stay away from stress myself and went to another store, bought some gifts, took another skyline-photo of this beautiful town I live in ... and at home I connected my printer and everything is working properly (wireless network, computers (both) ...). Life is great, and in 5 days I'm off to visit my brother and his family and enjoy American / Icelandic Christmas in Sunnyvale near San Francisco.
Yeah, baby. Life is good. Right?
