I apologize for being on and off to all the great people who deserve replies, but do not always get them in a timely manner (or ever, sometimes, unfortunately).
Lots of work, shows, parties and such. Really not much time to come on the net, and it's rather out of the question to do this at work. Maybe if I had some kind of ultra-portable device I could do it on the bus or other down/wait times. Maybe some day....
Comment of the day:
I saw a recent article/discussion on the whole "'Under God' stays in or gets out of the pledge of allegiance" debate.
Someone needs to explain to me why the hell do these people recite that? Like at all? All I can see is that, not content with putting their blind faith in a religion, people put it in a country! Fabulous!
I'd rather support individual specific ideas (picked on a case-by-case basis, please), rather than a huge group of 'decision makers' often motivated by the wrong reasons, values I don't approve of, idiocy, etc. There's nothing great about any country. Some good ideas, some bad ideas everywhere. Some countries are worse, none deserve my unconditional allegiance. I wouldn't even pledge that to a single person. Furthermore, everyone's an idiot at times, me included. Why the hell would I pledge allegiance to a symbol which is being represented by a group of people? No, thanks.
So until death, I pledge not to pledge my allegiance to anything but single well-defined ideas, for they are the only thing which I can agree whole-heartedly with.
