I skipped school today, probably not the best idea, but I don't reckon I missed too much.
I had a good reason though. All of my stuff finally came! In case you don't follow my life story, why would you, I just moved to sunny Baltimore from the magical island of England. I moved here the last week in August, my stuff finally caught up with me today. So today I've had the funtertaining task of unpacking everything and trying to get it all put away. I did not realize how much useless stuff I packed, I guess I'm more of a pack rat than I though. I think I'm gonna end up throwing away a bunch of stuff. Not a big deal, but one hell of a headache. The last couple weeks have been relatively easy, I didn't own much so I was just buying things as the need for them arose. This gradual accumulation of stuff makes organization and storage considerably easier. Ikea has been my bastion since I got here. Bought a couch, bed, table, chairs, lamps, bookshelves, and who knows what else. Lots of money spent, but my apartment is starting to look like I live here now. It's nice, very "homey."
I've called it a day on the unpacking now, as much as possible anyways. There's still stuff piled up on my bed, I guess I'll have to deal with all of that before I go to bed tonight. Right now I'm lying on the couch watching Serenity and bouncing around the internet. Lots of SG to get caught up on.
Anyways, I know people like pictures more than words, so I'll shut up and post a couple pictures of my new apartment in case anybody is interested. I really like my place, I think it's very "grown up." Living here kinda makes me feel like an adult in some ways. The pictures are from last week, before my stuff arrived.
This is my bedroom. It's small, really only the size of a full size bed and a couple feet at the foot and the side. My place probably should be considered a studio, rather than a 1 bedroom, but there's a door that leads from the bedroom to the living area.
Here's the living area view from the bedroom door. You can sort of get a feel for the size of the space. That's my Ikea couch.
Here's the best view I can get of the kitchen area. All new appliances and granite counter tops. That's my Ikea table and chairs in the middle.
Finally a view from the back door facing back toward the bedroom. That big brick was is nearly the sole reason I picked this apartment. I'm a sucker for hardwood floors and exposed brick.
Anyways, that's my ramblings for the day. Please, if you read this leave me some sort of comment. It's nice to know I don't live in a vacuum.
