Okay - some more dark poetry - still looking for a girl with cool glasses, that I can see our unborn children in her eyes, short of that a woman with or without cool glasses to have a great deal of sex with over the long weekend ?
back to the dark draft, also from the upcoming book
Too many to count
Bound by the hands
Hung upside down
My sweat burns my cuts,
Too many to count
Blood dries to close my swollen left eye
I pass in between the living and the dead,
As day turns to night, then back into day,
Too many to count
My hosts will ask me why are you here
My answer will be a long silent pause
As they beat me to near tears
Too many to count
I try think of my home
I try and remember an old song
I try and remember anything at all,
I try to distract a little from the pain that come and stays
Too many to count
My nose and my cheek are Re-Broken again
My sprits are still high, a plan I will make
My ribs so sore from the kicking that begins and ends
Each and every thirty hour day
Too many to count
They beat me,
They starve me
They freeze me,
They drown me
Too many to count
They kick me
They shave my head
They dose me with water
They pour on Kerosene then dangle a burning match
They even take away my louse lice filled straw bed
Too many to count
The cold is my friend
I welcome him each night,
Hoping he may take me with him this very day
Too many to count
Bruised and Confused,
I awake each morning cursing my friend
Who did not take me along into the cold night
Or the uncle I waited so long to come get me
Too many to count
Bored and annoyed, the kicking begins.
Knowing the rhythm like that of an old lover,
I slide to the side and kick and punch for my life.
As I have thought and planned
Too many to count
My hosts lie silent
With a look of surprise
Their boots are too small,
Their cloths are to Big
I crawl to the wire, the mud loosen my scabs, the blood runs down my back
Into the river I go and toward the safety I seek.
A few miles downstream, my family will find me,
Salvation we share a reunion of lost souls.
Nightmares I have
An Iron will no doubt
Each day I think of those months
Too many to count
