very rough draft poem for my 5th book of poems
Reader
The seconds loom
With the doom of days
Where art thou
I have waited
Like Romeo
Yet you do not appear
Is it my scars
That scare you
I feel as though
You have forsaken me
Perhaps for another
I know or even trained
Now I wait for you
On your balcony
Imaging your long locks
Flowing in the breeze
As you come out
For the evening air
Nearly forty
Seconds late
I will have to make
Our date short
Perhaps I should
Skip the foreplay
You lit a cigarette - then sit to read
I have been wondering what
Perhaps Mien Kemf
Dantates Inferno or Machvalli
As I lack the originality
Of a man bored with his job
I approach you silently
And casually toss you over the edge
You scream on your way down
A hundred feet later
You stop
Suddenly
I reach for your book
Because I have to know
I tremble with fear
As I see it is the Bible
This cant be good
How does a man like you
Come to enjoy the bible each night
You are as evil as man as there is
I hear the sentries
Running toward your body
The Whistles start,
Then the alarms
I walk swiftly
Back to my ropes
Hidden in the turrets
Repelling to the ground
Sprinting
Into the tree line
Two hundred meters later
I am with the thick of the forest
You will not find me from here
I will shuffle 40 kilometers
Before you realize I was even there
When I stop just before the sun comes up
I open to your book mark
Revelations
Chapter twenty two
Verse twenty one
Note:
Rev: 22:21
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
