A letter to my friend, Alex, who is depressed and wrote in his own blog, "But I'm tired and I don't care about anything in my life anymore. Thanks to everyone that cares and wishes that I could feel better, but it really doesn't help much. I want to escape.":
Alex, allow me to remove my normally jovial-sardonic-goofy-emotionally-armored mask and be serious for a...

Suns up. I just finished letting Lenore slither through the dew-dot lawn. Some industrious robins went all curious at the wriggling, slithering, blue-black thing in the green grass . . . and I imagine theyd have had a rude awakening had they gone just a little bit closer. If . . . She, Lenore, just turned two recently (pics and measurements coming soon).
I decided...

Thank you! I needed those words today. I hope you don't mind but I printed out your post put it on paper and I just tacked it next to my bathroom mirror. You just saved my day.

I second unsub's gratitude.
So my little payment book from my loan consolidation came in today.
Wow . . .
The amount of money built up in student loans and credit cards through undergrad and grad school is truly staggering. As are the monthly payments. I had designs on getting some little job, concentrate on the writing, and live with the parents a few months until prospects open up....

I like it...the striking thing really worked. You are sharp. I know how much it sucks to have all of tht debt...but you will probably be the most well educated person working at your second and third job. Keep writing it will work itself out.
Because I only do about one of these blasted things a year . . .
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
My monthly Best Buy bill for my robot love slaves. Yeah, easy monthly payments that dont start until July . . . but now Im one payment in and both of them are already worn out, the pistons grind, and I...

"Settle" is, to me, the most ugly of words. It's the first step to dying.

Thanks! I do love it this colour.
Its been a while.
And where did we leave off . . .
-Ive been asked a lot and no, I havent heard from White Wolf yet, regarding the novel contest. But I didnt expect to hear from them so soon. Hopefully any day now . . .
-I had an escaped lizard . . . but managed to coax it back into its...

Did you visit the museum of Poe and Hawthorne? I still haven't and was wondering if it's worth a trip back!
A few weeks ago, driving across the middle of Illinois in the middle of the night (its my favorite thing to be in the middle of) Nick and I listened to my MP3 player as I drove.
This is the play list for my White Wolf novel, I told him my novel about monsters and a strange sort of love story between a medical examiner...

Secrets of Locks and Corpses . . .
Home once again (but for how long?).
This weekend, I was near Cape Cod, at a magicians conclave. Saw some shows and tricks and workshops. Though I really didnt learn much in the way of new tricks, instead, through a Chicago cop who is in the local magic club and went with us, I learned how to...

Feeding Silence
by Joshua Alan Doetsch
Sometimes, there looms a demon named Silence
And all you can do is move your lips and
Fingers, fast as you can, feed it words
Down, down its needle-tooth maw
But Silence is always hungry and
You feel icy drool dripping
Down your spine and you
Pray for the sun to rise
Or the demon to take
Its fill...

So I think the speech at the Writer's banquet went all right. I ended up speaking significantly longer than the Pulitzer Prize winning featured speaker . . . whoops. Ah well. The high school kids seemed to like me well enough.
I could not believe that Val included this at the end of my little intro: "and once, on a long road trip, out of...
