Why are some people morally against making money? What's wrong with doing something semi creative so you can make enough to that you sit around and make what you want without worrying about bills. Being a struggling, starving artist is not as romantic as it seems. I hate living paycheck to paycheck. Money is not the root of all evil, greed is. And greed doesn't come from money, it comes from people. So there is nothing intrensicly wrong with money.
I thought I could help my friends out. I work for a company that makes stickers, and t shirt, and promotional items that people in the comic book indrustry would love to get their hands on, epspecially at the pricing I want to sell them at. But when I presented the idea of making stickers to promote our comics, they acted like I wanted them to sell their souls to the devil for fame and riches.
Now they do make some good points. They say that the only thing they are concerned with is creating good comics. That is a fine and noble goal, and it's mine too. But nothing irks me more that have a good comic that no one will read. I just want to use these products to help promote my friend's comics. I'm not trying to make a quick buck or swindel people out of money, I just want to use the resources at my disposal to make things easier and better for everyone. But I guess that's not "punk" or "indy" or whatever. Oh well, the offer will remain on the table if they ever change their minds. They're still a good bunch of kids.
