So here's the intro narration to a comic book script I'm writing...
The Cech-Porter Operation is a specific type of brain surgery developed by Dr. William Cech and Dr. Johanna Porter as a way to optimize the operation of the human brain. Through a top secret and classified method, successful recipients of CP Surgery gain increased memory, recall, reaction time and cognitive abilities. Subjects also report a noticeable increase in the sensitivity of all five senses, allowing subjects to notice things others can barely perceive.
The success rate of CP Surgery is roughly 60%. Subjects that do not die from complications on the operating table, around 10%, face the real possibility of dangerous side effects after the surgery. The remaining 30% of the subjects develop vivid hallucinations that lead to insanity and eventual death. Once a subject has experienced these hallucinations, the chances of the subject developing insanity and death is 100%. There is no known cure or treatment for this side effect, which is known as Delirium Sensorium Syndrome or DSS.
The lucky subjects that survive CP Surgery without developing DSS are recruited by a secret government organization called The Vehm Group. This group covertly arrests or eliminates enemies of the state by secretly embedding agents into more established or public government agencies. These agents, acting secretly on behalf of their high ranking military supervisors, are the United States' secret weapon against terrorist and criminal threats, both home and abroad.
