Aw, ignorance: I went to a coffee shop last night around the time Osama Bin Laden was killed. I walked up to the building and overheard a gal ask, "why are there so many fireworks tonight and why are people yelling "YEAH! AMERICA!" what's going on?" She was looking down at her expensive cell phone as she asked this. Her friend kept her eyes glued to her own cell phone as she responded, "They killed Obama."
C'mon! Really? hahaha.
I shook my head in disbelief and walked in to purchase some coffee to help boost up my energy. As always the coffee was too hot to drink. I sat down outside on a wooden bench. There was a large leafy tree hovering over the bench, blocking the rain. I took the lid off the black coffee and watched steam billow out, disappearing into the air. I sat alone on the bench for quite awhile. Just thinking . Watching the rain fall past the fluorescence of a street light. More fireworks went off in the distance. More cheering.
I stood up after the rain stopped falling and unlocked my bicycle from a metal post. I started walking down the sidewalk with my bike and coffee in each hand.
I made it a few blocks and before crossing a street a car drove past me. I started walking through the street, but then the car started reversing. I looked over and fell speechless. He sped up and the back of his car knocked into me. I tried to muster up something to make him stop, but my yelp was inaudible. I fell to the ground, toppling over my bicycle. My coffee flew in all directions. The driver paused and then squealed off. I filed a police report in case I ever see that vehicle again. What a horrid thing to do. I wasn't seriously injured, but what a inhumane thing to do...just leave a little young gal lying on the pavement. *waves fists*
A group of people ran up to me and watched as I laid against my bicycle. I was in shock; seeing red from my immense anger towards the horrible driver. A man bent down and held out his hand. I reached my fragile hand and he pulled me up.
My best girlfriend, Gina took care of me. Icing my leg and buying me an iced cappuccino to help me smile.
Anywhooo, I hope everyone's having a lovely evening. I've been relaxing all day. Currently watching stand up comedians on youtube I watched the ending to the movie, Dancer in the Dark, a few hours ago. It's a brilliant movie, but it's a really sad story.Bjork is the star of the film; she's so talented. Has anyone watched it before?
"The feelings that hurt most, the emotions that sting most, are those that are absurd; the longing for impossible things, precisely because they are impossible; nostalgia for what never was; the desire for what could have been; regret over not being someone else; dissatisfaction with the worlds existence. All these half-tones of the souls consciousness create in us a painful landscape, an eternal sunset of what we are."
