Wow.....thats about all I can say after last nights show. Tragedy, Vitamin X, and American Waste played a show last night in Portland and it was stellar. The only thing that sucked about the show was that I went alone, cause no one I know likes those bands...or that style of music. Anyways American Waste is this hardcore punk band from Portland. They remind me of early DC hardcore bands like Void, Teen Idles, and SOA. Just fast, pissed off hardcore. The feedback was pretty bad, but all in all they were pretty tight and really fun to watch. Tragedy played next and they were right on in every instance. Extremely tight, dark, brooding hardcore with shouted vocals. They most played new(er) stuff...and they didn't play my favorite song, not fucking fodder, but they did play Revengence, and that was worth it right there. Vitamin X played last, and they did everything right. Spastic, almost bouncy thrash/hardcore that brings to mind a thrashy minor threat or DS-13. Really, really enjoyed their set. I have yet to listen to the new LP/Cd, but I"m sure it's great. Honestly one of the best shows I have ever been to and tonight I get to see Himsa and Bleeding Through.
