YEEE! WAAAHHOO! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! WAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOO!
ahem
I just got home from a job interview (YEEEEE) at a 20 bed, all male, drug and alcohol treatment centre about 40 mins outa town
It went fuckin amazing, it was just awesome! The first interview I've ever had where it was like they were recruiting me instead of me trying to get a job! They thought I was great and that my education, personal (yes it went there) and professional experience would be a great "asset" It pays more than another job I was up for elsewhere and I'll have MY OWN FREAKIN OFFICE!!! It is SO close to the exact kinda work that I went to school for! They were excited for me to come there, how fuckin awesome is that! what a confidence (ok ego too) boost! (cue teachers voice in my head: you have the skills, you have the abilities, now go DO")
The only thing is that they are based around the 12 step recovery program, which I'm not all aboard with (I wrote a essay for school on it's downfalls) but there's a social worker that does that so I don't have to do that stuff, just keep my comments and critisms to myself, and don't say the oh so dirty "harm reduction" words. I'll be doing 1 on 1 counseling, facilitating group counseling, setting up presentations, and creating treatment plans, and some fun stuff too ( gardening, caring for the animals, recreation stuff)
So yes it's good, I am a happy girl....hmmm....I think it's time to celebrate

I haven't been keeping up with things so much on SG since I've been caught up with practicum, spring break, hockey and now my last semester
When do you find out if you get the job?
