So Lamb of God is off for the weekend. My brother told me on my birthday (Jan.6) that he was taking me to the concert in Edmonton as a birthday present. So I called him last week as the concert was this weekend, he didn't call me back, so I texted him today asking him to call me about the weekend.
So he called me about 10 mins ago, turns out he never got the tickets and the show has been sold out for more than a month. He said he has tried to get tickets since, and that he felt really bad, even called himself a bag of shit and he promised he'd make it up to me but...
He has stood me up before, as I'm sure many of you remember, but this is a whole new kind of thing. I was looking forward to this like crazy since my b-day. I thought that it was a wonderful present and incredibly thoughtful. I've even told a whole bunch of people about it and made plans about going to Edmonton. and now I look like the idiot for actually getting excited. I just don't know why he didn't tell me before, the concert is in 2 days for fuck's sake!
Nathanial's pissed and I'm just sad and disappointed
I'm an idiot

Sweetie, wow thats a bummer! I really thought that he was going to take you too! I mean you were sooo excited for it!!! Well i will have to disagree with you about the idiot thing, CAUSE YOUR NOT!! GAH! You are beautiful and human! Your hopes were broken! Not because of you, because of your bro... So its not your fault! Please know that! Hugs and kisses sent your way babe!
You wanna go for lunch next wednesday???
And Ali's right - YOU are not an idiot for getting your hopes up.
I say find a friend to go with (or take Nathanial) and just buy tickets from a scalper @ the concert. If you had your heart set on going, YOU SHOULD GO, regardless of your brother's flakiness.
We should plan another girl's night sometime soon - winning makes you happy.
