So, even though I wrote a fairly lengthy blog post before my subscription ran out a few months back, I'm back.
My subscription ran out in October. And right at the beginning of the month I was laid off from my day job. Seeing as how financial stability was an issue, I couldn't quite justify spending the money to renew. So I called it quits.
What's happened in the interim? I went on unemployment while I focused all my attention on comic books. The comic money is finally coming in, so I'm now a full time professional comic artist.
Like many people, 2016 wasn't an easy year for me. Losing the job put numerous things in jeopardy and it took a great deal of effort to get myself stable. But that's peanuts. In November, only a few weeks after her 88th birthday, my Grandma died. I was very close to her, and I credit her in a big way for the art and music I have in my life (she was a Juilliard trained classical pianist and skilled painter). She was a forward thinking, always upbeat woman and I miss her everyday. It was a dark ending to an already bleak year.
But there's been upsides. Response to The Great Divide has been decent. I've been writing a lot. And I've also been working on music. Here's my latest release:
Also still doing the Patreon thing. though instead of daily black and white drawings, it's weekly color pinups. Check it out, won't you?
Anyway, that's me. How are you?
