Working on another novel idea. This is the sixth one I've started on. Hopefully I can complete this one all the way through.
Things are off to great start. Ideas are a bit bland. Having a hard time spilling the words on to paper. My head's all out of ideas. Anyone want to trade?
I can't give you any details on these stories. Not that I think anyone would want to concern themselves with what floats around in my mind.
I've been reading Stephen King's "On Writing" while flipping through "Fight Club" by Chuck Palahniuk like I took a handful of ritalin. It's amazing how much you will read when you limit your television consumption to less than 3 hours a week. I might take Stephen's advice and move out to the storage building with a space-heater and a manual typewriter. When I surface I will have 60,000 words on paper. Then I will burn the building afterwards.

if he knows so much why are all his novel's so terrible?
there are exceptions, true, but stephen king is not who i think of when i think of good writers, and if his advice is to get a manual typewriter then he's finally got around to ripping off bukowski.
i perfer pedro juan guiteritterz's advice- stop asking other people for advice, stop talking to other writers, read everything you can and figure it all out. if it takes you a lifetime you'll be a better writer for it.
