I finally got some new spectacles, after having lost the one nice pair I had nearly a year ago. I'd been wearing Army-issued "Birth Control Goggles" since then. Hopefully I won't be quite so repellent now. Feel free to critique my frame choice.
It's been unbearably hot here for several days. I spent Saturday & Sunday photographing a lacrosse tournament and got a mild sunburn on the backs of my calves, which I am not accustomed to protecting with sunblock. I am happy to report that my head, face, neck, and arms (as well as everything covered by my shorts and t-shirt) were not burned. This is nothing short of a miracle with my skin and the sun exposure I received. The girl I was working with (sorry no picures - she was amazingly beautiful but also newly wed) got quite dark, as she's blessed with more resilient skin that bronzes instead of bursting into flames like mine. I shot over 3000 images over two days, and because I was shooting for someone else, I don't have any of them. They were nothing special, just action shots of kids playing lacrosse. The older boys teams really beat on each other. It's a rough sport! I found myself wishing I had been more physically active in school. Well, at least for a moment anyway.
I have semi-prepared the necessary documents and have finally received my diploma and transcript, so OCS may soon become a reality. Can you imagine me an officer?
