tune for today...
"He Wants You"
In his boat and through the dark he rowed
Chained to oar and the night and the wind that blowed
Horribly 'round his ears
Under the bridge and into your dreams he soars
While you lie alone in that idea-free sleep of yours
That you've been sleeping now for years
And he wants you
He wants you
He is straight and he is true
Ooh hoo hoo
Beneath the hanging cliffs and under the many stars where
He will move, all amongst your tangled hair
And deep into the sea
And you will wake and walk and draw the blind
And feel some presence there behind
And turn to see what that may be
Oh, babe, it's me
And he wants you
He wants you
He is straight and he is true
Ooh hoo hoo

It seems that so many of this man's songs are written to a woman, but that doesn't limit my appreciation or enjoyment of them. This is an artist I've been aware of for nearly his entire career and have only recently given a chance. Kicking myself now. It's become a habit of mine to pick up music that I rejected earlier, now finding it better than what I enjoyed then. I change.
I've turned another page, finished something left undone for too long, and found myself back at square one. At least in some ways. It is quite liberating, though. Someone once said something pithy about how you have to lose everything to gain the world.
My nephew now crawls and shrieks!
He sat up and stared into the eyes of the dog, the one that loves babies.
His eyes widened and he breathed in deeply.
He let out an ear-piercing shriek, louder than anything I'd heard in days.
Then he smiled.
He's a good kid.

No More Shall We Part
Although I am by no means an afficianado, I only got into him a few years ago. I've read very good reviews of his new album, I wanna hear it.
Have you heard of a band called Pengo? I think they're from Binghampton. Or maybe Rochester. Anyway, up there. They're fantastic, but it's noise, so kinda acquired taste.
Bless you for reading the previous entry, though. You're a keeper.
(How fucking condescending is that?)
I mean, hi. Nice to meet you.
