You just might like to know that today I was shot down. I said, "Can I have your phone number?" She said, "I'm sorry, I'm engaged." My first thought was to give her a business card and offer to photograph the wedding. But then my embarassment and disappointment kicked in and I ended up just wishing her a good day before blasting off. I had...

This weekend past was a wedding in Skaneateles, NY. This is a very old resort town in the Finger Lakes. It's nice there. One of the cleanest lakes in the world, I'm told. I'm hanging prints of mine in a gallery tomorrow. Woot! These are not work stuff. These are self-assignments. Some environmental portraits, a long exposure of a NYC street from the roof of...

Spent the weekend in New York City. I went there to photograph a wedding at the NY Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, acting as a shooting and schlepping assistant. Very cool. I'm becoming very familiar with the gear so that I'm (almost) as confident with digital shooting as I was with film. Cool, again.

We stayed at the Wales on Madison ave, up near E...

damonone:
actually, you are right, there are really no comprable cameras in the SLR variety. (other than other Kodaks).

i better stop looking at this camera, before i decide i want one. right now my next camera will probably be the canon 300d or the 10d

my comment had to do with the consumer variety cameras. kodak's are just blah. (yeah, that is the technical term smile )

where do you do your research? if i may ask.

Preoccupied with poisons. Distracted by bottled demons. Soured by sauces. And loving it.

Quite happy in my perceived poverty and apparent disshevelledness. For the moment.

I have successfully installed and am reasonably satisfied with the performance of Fedora Core 1 Linux on my second machine. (It still has Windows XP on a separate hard disk, but I have to actuallly change the ATA/IDE cable to use it. I don't intend to do that. I'll probably end up formatting that one for additional space for this machine once I've figured out...

My new apartment is awesome. It's almost too big. I'm enjoying the current pace of my responsibilties, although my enjoyments are seriously lacking. In Germany, even if all my friends were busy and I was flat broke, I could still get an outstanding beer very cheaply. Not so here. Also, there's absoulutely nowhere to go to meet people. If there even are any people worth...

I'm actually working in photo!!! Yay me! It's raining outside and I have to go to sleep so I can get up and load trucks at Fed Ex at 3:30 in the morning. My other job. Moving into an apartment in a nice part of town. So excited. This has to be brief.
