Still waiting to hear back about the grant for my summer job. No grant will mean no job, and I really don't know what the chances of the funding coming through is.
So for now, I'm taking a geography course and applying for jobs. I REALLY don't want to go back to retail. I don't want to be a cashier any more. I did it for a year. I know what it is like. I got to the point where I was actually pretty good at it, and certainly appreciate the people who do it. I would just rather not.
I've applied for some Park Ranger type jobs, and have registered with the Federal Government's summer student program. They have BOTH parks AND geology stuff, so hopefully something will come of that.
I applied for OSAP (student loan) but the estimate they gave me at the end of the application was for only 1/6 of what I expected. How the hell am I suppossed to live and learn on that???
I am tutouring for the first time at the post-secondary level tommorrow. I'm a bit nervous about it. Actually, I'm more than a bit nervous about it, but I know I'm just fretting about nothing. And hey, it will end up paying for food for the week.
I went to the YellowBike--a community-based bicycle resource centre where everything is donated and volunteers operate it and sell fully-usable refurbished bikes for $20-30--a couple of days ago, but they didn't have anything that would fit me. I tried another place downtown that has used bikes (for $125) and they didn't have anything in my size either.
Tomorrow is another day and approaches far more in a hurry than I would like.
